Anne Krocak - Artist

Anne Krocak is a passionate artist whose life was reshaped at age 17 after a severe Multiple Sclerosis attack left her temporarily paralyzed on her left side. Her dream of becoming a dancer shifted to a deeper purpose: embracing the gift of life and using her creativity to make a meaningful impact.
Anne’s love for art began in kindergarten, where she first discovered clay and declared she would become an artist. She followed that early calling, dedicating her career to creating work infused with vision, joy, and accessibility. Living with MS for more than 30 years, she understands what it means to transcend limitations and uses her art to inspire others to do the same.
In addition to running Anne Krocak – Art, she collaborates with communities and public organizations nationwide, with public artworks featured at the Centers for Disease Control, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. Her honors include awards from VSA Minnesota, COMPAS, Public Art Saint Paul, ArtSage, the Jahney-Arts Access Award, and a National VSA/Kennedy Center Fellowship.
As a Lifetime Arts teaching artist, Anne shares her expertise with others, preparing educators to work with people with disabilities and older adults. Her workshops span senior communities, museums, schools, shelters, libraries, and hospitals across the country. Anne’s work is a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of art to change lives.
What people share about their experience with Anne:

I’ve worked with Anne on dozens of projects and cannot recommend her highly enough.
She is a model of excellence—thoughtful, energetic, and deeply committed to each participant. Anne personalizes every class by honoring people’s interests, abilities, and stories. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and her sessions overflow with laughter, creativity, and genuine connection.
Anne has a remarkable ability to draw out what matters most to participants and help them express it artistically, building both skills and joy. She celebrates their work throughout the process, often culminating in a public showcase.
Connection, collaboration, and community building are central to her teaching. Participants support each other and frequently co-create large community artworks that reflect everyone’s contributions.
Few people can electrify a room like Anne. She treats every participant as a fellow artist, fostering confidence and creative risk-taking. Organizers and participants are consistently delighted with her facilitation, and she is regularly invited back.
